Connecting our W.I.D.E. Community
Well-being inclusion diversity equity
W.I.D.E. is a district initiative aimed at ensuring all students feel safe, included, welcome and accepted and experience a sense of belonging and academic success.
WIDE is essential in an elementary school setting, where students are beginning to form their understanding of themselves and the world around them. Prioritizing WIDE helps create a safe, supportive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and respected.
At Quaker Ridge, our goal is to build a strong foundation for a school culture grounded in compassion, curiosity and connection. With this goal in mind, our W.I.D.E. Community also encompasses our Belonging committee, Learning from our Differences committee, Global Learning committee and C.H.I.L.D.
Recent initiatives have included:
- An assembly by Indigenous Enterprise to celebrate Native American Heritage Month
- Grade-specific presentations coordinated with the Westchester County Office for People with Disabilities
- A parent-led Global Learning Luncheon
We would love your collaboration and welcome your involvement!
