Arrival & Dismissal Times

• Arrival Time - Drop off begins: 8:30 am
• First Bell: 8:35 am
• Second Bell: 8:39 am
• Dismissal Time: 3:00 pm
• Bus Dismissal Time: 3:10 pm

Full Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Morning Arrival

Car Drop-Off

• Drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. in the front circle. No supervision before 8:30.
• Students must exit from the right side of the car, directly onto the sidewalk, and only in the designated zone.
• This is a “kiss and go” line. Children should be ready with coat and backpack on.
• Adults must stay in the car. If you need extra time, please park and walk your child in.
• No idling while waiting.
• No left turn onto Weaver Street when exiting campus.
  
  

Alternative Drop-Off for Grades 3–5

• Families may drop students along Normandy Lane between Old Lyme and Meadow.
• Crossing guards and staff supervise students walking to the building.

Walkers & Bikers

• Crossing guards are stationed at Normandy Lane.
• Bike riders must wear helmets and lock their bikes.
• The school is not responsible for bikes parked on campus.
  
  

Bus Riders

• Buses drop off at the back of the building, supervised by staff.
• After the first week, students will have assigned seats: younger students in the front, older students in the back.
• Older siblings may move forward to sit with younger siblings.
  
  

Afternoon Dismissal

Car & Walk Pick-Up

• Pick-up begins at 3:00 p.m. Caregivers often arrive by 2:45.
• Park in the front lot or on Old Lyme/Meadow. Do not park in the back lot.
• Do not stop in the traffic circle in front of the entrance.
• No left turn onto Weaver Street when exiting campus.
  
  

K–2 Pick-Up

• Students are dismissed directly to parents at the K-2 Dismissal Exits. 
• If someone other than a parent is picking up, record this in School Dismissal Manager (SDM) by choosing the “K–2 Pick-Up, Not by Parent” option.
• Caregivers should be ready to show a government-issued ID.
  
  

Grades 3–5

• Students dismissed to the blacktop at the front right of the building.
• With parent permission (recorded in SDM), students in grades 3–5 may pick up younger siblings.
  
  

Bus Riders

• Buses arrive around 2:45 p.m. Boarding begins at approximately 3:11.
• Students may not ride a bus other than the one assigned.
• No food, calls, or texts on the bus. Devices must be off and put away.
  
  

Attendance & Lateness

On-Time Arrival

• Instruction begins at 8:45 a.m. Please ensure your child arrives on time.
• Missing even the first minutes of the day can disrupt learning.
  
  

If Late

• Students arriving after 8:50 a.m. must enter through the front entrance, ring the bell, and sign in with the nurse.
• They will receive a late pass before going to class.
• If arriving later in the morning (e.g., after an appointment), record the lateness in School Dismissal Manager (SDM) by 8:50 a.m. to avoid a call home.
