QRS Faculty and Staff Gift Fund - Contribute until next Sunday!

Last chance to participate in the QRS Faculty and Staff Gift Fund!  Until November 29th, the PTA is collecting contributions for holiday and end-of-year gifts for everyone who works at Quaker Ridge.  This year, especially, we want to thank and recognize our wonderful faculty and staff who have worked so hard and with such dedication during these challenging months.  All payments will be pooled and divided fairly across the school.  This year we will also be working with the other elementary school PTAs to include remote-only teachers.  Don’t forget to contribute by November 29th and thank you for your support!

Global Learning Cookbook!

Seasons greetings! The Global Learning Committee is looking to celebrate and promote diversity in the QRS Community. While the pandemic is preventing us from holding in-person events, it won't stop us from coming together to celebrate the many different cultures represented at our school.

We invite the community to submit their family recipes for a cookbook we plan to publish featuring the many different cuisines represented at QRS.  Families are also invited to submit your children’s illustrations accompanying the recipe or a photograph of the family cooking together. Personal anecdotes regarding the recipe are also welcome!
More information about the recipe submission will be available shortly after the Thanksgiving holiday. If you have any questions please email the Global Learning Committee chairs:

Message From the Food Service Team

The Food Service team is sending our warm wishes for the upcoming holiday season. With the changing schedule for grades K-2, we want to remind you of the convenient option to order lunch from our school lunch program. As students acclimate to a full day at school, they will need a nutritious, filling and satisfying lunch to keep them energized - so get it right at school. Easily order all of your child’s meals right from the NutriSlice app. All meals come with your student’s delicious entree and the fruit and vegetable of the day. Water is available for additional purchase and desserts are available on Fridays. Every meal is pre-packaged, labeled with the student’s name and is delivered to their assigned classrooms for consumption during their lunch period.

Students in Grades 3-5 are also encouraged to purchase lunch. Lunches are delivered directly to each classroom prior to dismissal, so students can take them on-the-go! Even fully remote students can still enjoy a nutritious lunch ordered from our Remote Menu! Order lunch today for December on Nutrislice and feel free to view a printable menu here.

Feeding Westchester Fundraiser

We want to thank everyone for their generous contributions to our 5th grade community service project, Feeding Westchester. Our school collected a total of 337 pounds of food which will help families in need this holiday season!

PTA Bylaws

The PTA will be renewing its Bylaws at the end of the year.  To review the current Bylaws and proposed changes, click here.  A brief meeting will be held on December 22nd to approve the new Bylaws.

QRS back-to-school FAQ's

We know that this school year will look a little bit different from years past, but we are still confident it will be a great year! In an effort to help you navigate some of these changes, the PTA Executive Committee has created this FAQ page to serve as a one-stop shop for many of your questions.

Hop onto Instagram and follow our brand-new account - @QRSPRIDE. Throughout the year, the account will document both the ordinary and extraordinary moments that make up a school year at Quaker Ridge. In the next few weeks, we’ll be giving you a first look at the new Spirit Wear collection, spotlighting members of our community, and asking for you to share what you’re seeing and doing as the school year kicks off.

This week, be sure to send us any photos of you and your family getting ready for school as we kick-off Virtual Orientation and first meetings with your new teachers!

On Friday, be sure to wear your Spirit Wear and share your shots with us!

To share your photos or feedback, send within Instagram to @QRSPRIDE or email.
